UALR Trojan's Mens Basketball Team Does Yoga!

The UALR Trojan's Men's Basketball team had a winning 2015-2016 season record.  Sunbelt Conference Champions and a show at the Sweet 16!

Could it be the yoga?!?!!

Wendy led the team through weekly meditation and a physical practice focused on releasing muscle tension from repetitive use, however she gives full credit to the amazing FOCUS of Chris Beard and the staff of coaches. One of their teams mission statements was 4:1, mental:physical.  It worked!

Look for Wendy's editorial this summer in the June, July, and August publications of Savvy. Savvy is available at your local Kroger store, other central Arkansas locations, and online.

Arkansas Literary Festival

Wendy Cook moderated at the 2016 Arkansas Literary Festival for Kathryn Budig's session on her newly published book, Aim True.  Kathryn is a renowned international yoga teacher, writer for Women's Health and Yoga Journal, co-founder of Poses for Paws, and author of two published books on yoga. In the conversation Kathryn shared that her passion is empowering others to realize what "aiming true" means to them and to live a BIG life from that realization. She is a voice for women discovering that true health comes from the inside and that happy, strong women come of all shapes and sizes.

The Arkansas Literary Festival exists to raise funds for literacy in Arkansas through the Central Arkansas Library System. The success of the festival and literacy in our area depends on the generosity of its donors!  Click the below link if you would like to donate.

Donna Terrell's Yoga Warriors

Catherine Burton led a gentle yoga sequence for the 3rd annual Donna Terrell's Yoga Warriors April 16, 2016.  Donna created the event in honor of her daughter whom passed from Colon Cancer at the age of 34.  The intention of the event is to bring awarenss to early detection of colon cancer for all ages and to raise funds for liquid nutrition for patients healing from any type of cancer. This year's event was a sell out! Big Rock Yoga donated a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training for the cause and we are excited to share that Illene Stewart of Edgemont, AR is the winner!
